Stories have the power to change lives by inspiring hope, conveying lessons and reminding us we are not alone. I have dreamed of writing books since I was a child devouring the Boxcar Children series. I can still feel the inspiration and awe that I felt as a young girl reading about the heroes of our country, including Florence Nightingale, Helen Keller and Abraham Lincoln. I can’t claim to be a heroic heroine or sleuth detective child, but an average human doing her best to live up to the potential we all inherently have. We are heroes and detectives in our own mystery of life.
